Christianity is Weird

Christianity is weird.

It doesn't make sense. Think about it.

Christians are weird.

We do weird things, say weird things.
We closed ourselves in rooms with a bunch of people, turn out the lights and sing songs to something no one can see or explain.
We follow the teachings of a guy would broke bread and said it was His body and told us to eat it in remembrance of Him.
We believe that Man was sinless.
We believe that Man, died for us, but didn't know us.
We believe that Man, saved us from eternal Hell, by dying on a cross.
We use words like "burden" and "nourish."
We willingly go to places and listen to lectures about something we don't understand.
We sing strange songs.
We dance and shout during the strange songs.
We follow a book filled with stories, poems, and letters.
We believe in miracles ( or at least we should).
We are monotheistic, but believe in a God of three equal, distinct, but still one, persons.
We believe in Creation.

Christians are weird, but, in some weird way, it all makes sense to us. It doesn't make sense because we can exlpain everything; it makes sense because there is something inside of us, something we can't explain, that lets us know this is right. A gut feeling, an instinct, that says: this doesn't make sense when you look at from the outside, but it makes sense on the inside. That needed contentment that is inside us, is satified by Christ and His message.

I challenge everyone to love God, and see what happens.
No matter what you think, or what makes sense, He already loves you.

The Shadow Proves the Sunshine

The new Switchfoot CD came out a few weeks ago. After the first listen, I didn't really like it. I thought it was nothing new and sounded to much like The Beautiful Letdown, but after multiple listens, I really like the CD. Lyrically, it is amazing, there is a little to be desired musically, but I still claim Switchfoot as my favorite band, and I have been listening to this CD, along with the new David Crowder ( more to come on that later), non-stop. Here's my favorite song off the new CD( the lyrics don't do it total justice, I suggest finding a place to chill and listening to it twice):

The Shadow Proves the Sunshine
Nothing is Sound
Switchfoot

Sunshine, won't you be my mother
Sunshine, come and help me sing
My heart is darker than these oceans
My heart is frozen underneath

We are crooked souls trying to stay up straight,
Dry eyes in the pouring rain well
The shadow proves the sunshine
The shadow proves the sunshine

To scared that I'll run always
Hold fast to the break of day light were
The shadow proves the sunshine

Oh Lord, why did you forsake me?
Oh Lord, don't be far away away
Storm clouds gathering beside me
Please Lord, don't look the other way

Crooked souls trying to stay up straight
Dry eyes in the pouring rain well
The shadow proves the sunshine
The shadow proves the sunshine

To scared that I'll run always
Hold fast to the break of day light were
The shadow proves the sunshine
The shadow proves the sunshine

Yeah Yeah, shine on me
Yeah Yeah, shine on me
Yeah Yeah, shine on me
Yeah Yeah, shine on me

Crooked souls trying to stay up straight
Dry eyes in the pouring rain well
The shadow proves the sunshine
The shadow proves the sunshine

To scared that I'll run always
Hold fast to the break of day light were
The shadow proves the sunshine
The shadow proves the sunshine

Yeah Yeah, shine on me
Yeah Yeah, shine on me
Yeah Yeah, shine on me

Shine on me,
Shadow proves the sunshine
